Well, the Verizon iPhone4 is an amazing device. My daughter has been using this phone now for about 2.5 weeks and it is everything we expected it to be. The phone has a great profile. It’s not too large (think Droid X) and it’s not too small think Blackberry Curve.

The sound quality of phone calls is fantastic. We have experienced no drop calls. It appears the antenna problem with the ATT iPhone4 has been corrected with the Verizon iPhone4.

The easy to use keyboard for texting is fantastic. It is a touch screen keyboard and after moving from a physical keyboard there have been no problems adapting to this one.

One of the really nice things is the forward looking camera. My daughter downloaded the Tango app and it produces a nice crisp video, when using a wireless connection, and a decent picture when going over the cell network.

The thing that has really blown me away is the quality of the photos that this camera takes. They are unbelievable! Crisp. Clear, Unbelievable detail.

Actually, it has been for about 4 months. Her 2-year Verizon contract, as part of a family bundle, had ran out back in September 2010. There wasn’t really a phone that excited her at the time so my son and I suggested she wait to upgrade as the rumors were running rampant then that Verizon had finally inked a deal with Apple on the iPhone 4 and that it was on the horizon. She decided that would be the course of action she would follow so the waiting began.

She has been a Blackberry Tour user for the last 2 years and she likes the phone. The only problem encountered was with the trackball mouse. Used Cars Denver . We had to have it replaced a few months ago. She really likes the long battery life she has with the Blackberry. I hope she is not too disappointed with the battery life of the iPhone 4. I know most smartphones seem to use battery like we use air.

So. as we got into January 2011 the anticipation began to grow. When Verizon announced the launch site for existing customers she was quick to sign us up for notifications and information on thet launch date. She called me when she new the specifics and said that the iPhone 4 could be ordered from Verizon for existing customers on February 3, 2011….at 2 am central standard time. So, me being the good dad that I am I told her I would get the phone ordered for her.

I got up at 1:55am on February 3, 2011. I had left the laptop turned on so all I needed to do was log in to the Verizon order site. In short, the experience was fine. I was immediately logged in with no delays. I began my order and I got to the part where you needed to enter your  credit card to pay. I normally have my phone purchases billed to my account. This is just one less time I have to give my credit card to somebody as far as I am concerned. That was not an option this time. And that was fine, it just wasn’t what I expected during the checkout process. I reviewed everything to make sure it was correct. Hit checkout to complete the order. I wrote down the confirmation number and went back to bed. free guitar lessons . A total of about 10 to 15 minutes from a sleepy person to complete the transaction. RÃ???Ã??©fÃ???Ã??©rencement SEO . I was pleasantly surprised.

When I woke up later that morning for work I had a confirmation email on my Blackberry Curve that the order had been confirmed at about 2:55am. On Friday morning, February 4, I received a confirmation email with tracking information that the iphone 4 had shipped from Verizon. Right now it is in Louisville, KY awaiting shipment to our place.

He is a heavy internet user and also sends and receives quite a few text messages each day. The battery just wasn’t holding up on this phone. No matter what we tried it just wasn’t performing. I mean the battery would be shot within 3 to 4 hours.  That is just unacceptable.  So, we switched it out with a Verizon Blackberry Curve and the Curve is working out beautifully for him. My daughter just switched over to a Blackberry Tour last week so I will be giving an update on it in the near future.

First it was Verizon and Apple hammering out a possible arrangement to bring a new iPhone or iPhone like device to their network this year and now it appears as if Microsoft is the hunt with Verizon as well. Forum Modular Display Systems . It seems that since Verizon picked up the Alltel customer base they are in quite the demand as a business partner.

The Wall Streed Journal is reporting today that “Microsoft Corp. is in discussions with Verizon Wireless to launch a touch-screen multimedia cellphone on the carrier’s network early next year, in a bid to compete with Apple Inc.’s iPhone, people familiar with the matter said.” The project has been codenamed “Pink” by Microsoft. Municipal Bonds . Denver Marketing . Microsoft is looking to bring their Windows Mobile Cell Phone Operating System and Windows Marketplace for Mobile (read itunes type store) to a wider audience. They will likely get someone like HTC to actually manufacture the phone but Microsoft will likely maintain control of the software and service.

The HTC is an excellent phone and I think this could be a great partnership. The one thing that needs to happen is the price on the HTC devices needs to come down some. They are quite expensive. My daughter has an HTC phone and has been using for a about a years with the Microsoft operating system and she really likes it.

He likes the touch screen interface and the iphone look but also likes the functionality of the Blackberry platform. I have looked at this phone and I like it. The only thing I am concerned about is the virtual keyboard, but hey, he is is going to be using it not me. I prefer the Blackberry Curve. The bad news is I am an Alltel customer. I have been for years. The Blackberry Storm is not offered by Alltel as it is a Verizon phone. Well, as most of you know Verizon has bought at Alltel and we are waiting for the switch over. I visited with my Alltel rep last week and he informed me that I would be switched to Verizon billing in July and I could purchase/upgrade to the Blackberry Storm at that time. Who know’s by the time July rolls around he may be interested in a different phone! If not, I will be purchasing a Blackberry Storm like those shown below….
